Been To The Place Closest To Heaven Part 3

After our lunch on the 2nd day, we continue to tour around Shangri-la!

How about giving visiting Shangri-La hotel in Shangri-la!

Yes! We did that!

The hotel was really gorgeous! The rooms were really really spacious!!!!! Unfortunately, I didn took any photos of the room! Hahha.

However, here are some of the photos that we took along  the way.

The view from the hotel lobby!

The whole room just seem felt like a kingdom to me! It was really spacious! We went crazy in the rooms and started to role play as kings and queens because the arrangement and the design of the furniture seems similar to that in the forbidden city! Hahha.

Hahha. I believe you can see that we are really happy too!!

There was a trail starting from the hotel leading to a wide patch of grassland! Haha. I didn take many photos as I am not exactly a scenery person! I prefer to shop more! Haha.

Furthermore, I was busy avoiding the cow dungs on the ground!! Hahaha. However, the scenery was really breathtaking!! Take a look at the photos.

After breakfast, we went visiting the Potatso Nature Park.

Camwhored!

More cows!!!

Pretty ladies from my company!

The girls did this pose while many looked on! Hahah.

Whatever the girls did, the guys had to better it.

Been To The Place Closest To Heaven Part 2

We arrived in Shangri-la in the night. Thus, we only had a night to roam about in the Shangri-la town.

The very next day, we woke up early and had breakfast.

During breakfast, our boss kept telling us stories about her life. HAHAH. She always has many life stories to share. Seriously, I think her stories are rather interesting but it can get a little boring after she starts talking about it for too long. Haha.

Due to the high altitude, some of us developed acute high altitude disease. Hahaha. But we still had to carry on with our plans.

Vendors along the street

Little Potala!!

This resembles the Potala Palace in Tibet. I thought it was quite pretty!!

After that, we went around touring the place. The majority of the people living in Shangri-la are people of the    Zang Zu (藏族)and they are all Buddhists. Therefore, we of course had to visit their temples. The architectures in Shangri-la are also very special. I dont know how to describe them in words. I guess the picture tells more than what I can describe in words.

We had to climb flights of stairs before we could get to see the architectures.

There was a little girl who tagged along with us. She is really cute but she can get really noisy at times.

Camwhored along the way! 2 pretty ladies from our company, Josephine and Jessandra! We were really too near to the sun and that is why I need to have hoodie on because I was very afraid that I will get sunburnt! The sun is very bad for the skin!

I believed you would have probably seen this photo if you are a facebook friend of mine.

The bird eye view scenery from where the temples were.

Camwhored with my colleagues along the way!

After touring the place, we went to have lunch.

The girls camwhored with the flowers.

The guys had to give it a try too!!

I think we did fine! Haha.

Lunch! Pizzas!

Been To The Place Closest To Heaven Part 1

Updates!

If you know me well, you probably know that I have already been to Yunnan, China. It's actually my company retreat. My boss wanted to reward us for our hard work that we had put in during the event and thus, she decided to sponsor us for the whole trip. We each just had to fork out $500.

We had to take the plane to Kunming, China before taking a transit to Shangri-La.

Some photos taken in the airport.

Finally, we reached Shangri-la after around 8 hours!!

The godson of our boss came to the airport to pick us up.

Shangri-la, with the meaning of ‘the sun and the moon in the heart’ in Tibetan, was first appeared in the novel Lost Horizon written by James Hilton in 1939. Reputed as the ‘Eden in dream’, Shangri-la is well-known for its steep gorges, majestic snow mountains, crystal lakes, mysterious ethnic villages and attractive conservation areas.

Shangri-la County locates at the place where Tibet, Sichuan and Yunnan meet, with an average altitude of over 3,000 meters.

Okay, the short introduction explains the title of my entry. Shangri-la is said to be the place closest to heaven.

Took some photos upon arriving in the town where our hotel is.

Our room!

We were treated to dinner by my boss's friend after checking into the hotel.

After having our sumptuous dinner, we went touring around the town.

There were many people dancing in the parade square and we joined them. However, we got breathless only after dancing for a few minutes due to the high altitude.

After that, we just had fun walking around the town.

Back to the hotel, my boss finally arrived and there was a band to receive her. Hahaha.

We all had fun watching the band performed!!

Please look forward to the next entry. It will be about my travelogue around Shangri-la!

This was what I saw the next day!
