汉语桥 (二)

I am back with more updates about my China trip.

Beware. There are hell lots of photos in this blog entry!! Hahaha. No worries, there will be not as many photos in the subsequent entries.

Day 1 of the trip was just about travelling. I took lots of photos because i was with Zhi Xian. Hahaha. She loves to camwhore and I like to take photos too. After the first day, I couldn possibly always stick to her and this explains the reduction in photos. Hahaha.

Anyway, meet up with ZhiXian at Changi Airport.

It was her first ever flight in her entire life. Thus, she was a little nervous!! Hahaha.


Took a photo with AirChina as we wanted to use it for our reports when we returned to Singapore. Apparently, we were told that we will have write essays after we returned. The essays are meant for publicity use in future.

Our boarding passes!!! Yeah, we went so mad till we even took photos of our boarding passes. Hahaha.

Upon entering the immigration gates, i camwhored on the travellator.




Our plane!! Air China!! Hahaha. The service of the staff aren very good. They are not very polite. Hahaha. However, i shall not complain further since it is free.

After 6 hours of flight, we finally touched down at BeiJing International Airport.


Walking to the immigration checkpoints to get our passports "chopped" before we can get to embark on our 汉语桥 journey. See how good we are!! We even camwhored while we walked.

There were lots of people at the checkpoints. You wouldn understand how many people are there until you see this photo!!!!

OMG!!! It took us close to an hour to get our passports "chop"!!!!

After we walked out of the immigration check points, there were people holding the 汉语桥 banner awaiting us. Felt like we were some honoured guests. Hahhaa.


My very first group photo with the other camp mates at the Beijing International Airport. Starting to feel the summer heat!!! Temperature reaches 40 degrees almost everyday when I was in China!!!! It was sorching hot!!

Last but not least, the first friend that i knew from the trip. Joohee from Korea. I always address her as 韩国美女. Haha. She has really really good skin. It is absolutely flawlous. Hahaha. I was singing SNSD's Oh to her when i first met her. Seriously, I sang to her all the Korean songs that i knew. 武大郎，武大郎.....hahaha!!!

I found out that i look so refreshed on the first day. Hahhaa. My hair looked so neat!! Hahaha. After the first day, the hair started to get really messy. The sweat, heat and fatigue made me looked like a mad man during the rest of the days. Hahaha.

汉语桥

Hello!!! I am back from China!!!!

China was really fun. Hahaha. Actually, the activities there were actually rather boring but I made many many friends there~~~!!!

We hang out together everyday and my friends cried so hard on the day that we had to leave. Hahhaa.

Anyway, many thought that I was there to participate in the competition. No!! I am not!!! I was just there to view the competition. Also, many thought that this was a competition for people from China, Hongkong and Taiwan but this is not true. Hahah. I thought so too at first but it's actually a competition for students from Universities all over the world. However, their first language cannot be Chinese.

Anyway, just some photos from the China trip. I didn took many photos during my 10 days stay there as my camera was faulty. Hahaha.

The very first hotel that I stayed in!!!

It is a 5 star hotel. Hahaha. However, things started to change for the worst when we headed to HuNan from BeiJing. Hahaha. We stayed in 3 star hotels and you can definitely see a difference in the facilities provided.

Took a photo with my friends on the day of the finals. Hahaha. Well, i don't know the guy on the extreme left. Hahaha. All of a sudden, he wanted to take a photo with us!!! Hahaha.


My cute friends from Japan. I will always remember the night that we chatted at MacDonald. We talked about our love problems, about our lives and everything!!!

Lunch~!!! Food was rather bad. Hahaha. I find the food there really salty and oily. Hahaha.

Lastly, a photo of me with 中国汉办 and 孔子学院. These are the 2 organisations that made this China trip so enjoyable and most importantly, FOC!!!!!!!

Hahahaa. It was absolutely FREE and I just spent around $40 in China. Hahaha.

This China trip has leave me with lots of fine memories. I am seriously missing my friends now.

Also, the passion that everyone there have for Chinese really gave me a shock. There was this girl from 哈萨克斯坦, she just started learning Chinese for just 8 months. I am sorry. Please do not ask me for the English name of her country because i really don't know. Hahaha. Needless to say, her command of the Chinese language is not really good. However, her eagerness to learn really to shock me. I merely just said a word that she didn understand, she held her hand out and directed me to write the word and the HanYu PinYing on her palm. She started speaking to me a lot from that moment because she hope that through our conversations, she can learn more new terms.

Many from other countries are learning Chinese the hard way because they don't have the environment to learn Chinese. However, you will be really amazed by how well they speak. Here in Singapore, every Chinese is given the chance and environment to learn their mother tongue well but most don't wish to put in more effort to learn the languge well. Hiaz.

Well, enough of my national education.

Friendships

This was taken more than 2 years ago.

Our fashion sense were really bad then. Hahaha.

Forgive us. We were just 18!!!!

This was taken a week ago.

Not only had we improved on our fashion sense, even the background of our photo looks much nicer despite us taking the photo at the very same place. Hahaha.

Anyway, the dress theme for that day was summer. Hahaha

Kudos to our 6 years of friendship!!

I only have 6 best friends. Well, they are all here!!! HAHAHA.

I really hope that our friendship will stay strong. =)

About My Job

This is not an entry to complained about my job. Hahaha.

I always complained about how stressful my job is. However, I am still working in the company now. Hahaha. I guess this is because I can still derive some joy from my job.

Sometimes, I feel glad when my candidates thank me from the bottom of their hearts when you find them a job. I am unable to administer the contract for people who got permanent jobs through me as I am just a temp staff now So, my mentor will have to do the job for me. At times, my candidates will request to speak to me after my mentor had finished administering the contract with them. That is because they want to thank me personally. Hahaha. I thought that was really nice of them!!!! Hahaha.

Anyway, there was this guy who came over to my company for an interview about a month ago. He wanted the position of a lab technician for six months as he will be furthering his studies next year. At that moment, i really thought that it was impossible for me to find him a job. Hahaha.

Nevertheless, i still kept his profile with me. Amazingly, I actually found him a job yesterday!!! Hahaha.

My candidate actually wanted to write me a letter of compliment. Hahaha. Actually, I didn do anything extrodinary nice. I just merely mentioned that I was afraid that the job will not be suitable for him.

Anyway, I didn send him the email of my superior!! Hahaha. I replied him saying that it was actually part of my job to do the job matching process for him and that I will be happy enough if he likes his job. Hahaha.

Hahaha..Felt really great to receive such an email.

Okay, it's time to go.

Anyway, i am doom this week. I am not doing well enough!!!!

Stressful

I didn want to blog about my work at first but I needed to do so because it's really bothering me.

Seriously, i don't know if my extension of contract with my company was the right thing to do. Hahaha.

I think work is still fine but I hate working now because my superiors are suddenly very strict with me. I guess that is because I am not following the correct procedure of how the job matching process should be like. However, I really find those procedure a hassle. What's wrong with not following them if I can do the job!!!!

Well, the answer is simple.

You can do adsolutely anything if you do well for the job.

If you don't, you jolly well follow the procedures like as if they are antidotes to your bad sales.

Seriously, I don't think that I am doing that badly. I think I did fine.

However, my superiors think otherwise. They love to look at how many temps i can fill every week instead of the overall sales!!!

I know the procedures were there for a reason but I just find them a chore.

I was scolded by being late for just 5 minutes the week before but my superior came to work 15 minutes late last week.

See the difference~!

Knew what she said, "What's the time now? It's 8.35am. You are 5 minutes late. Why are you late? "

I merely answered, " I woke up late."

In the end, I got blasted for being 5 minutes late.

She said, "That is not an excuse right! Can you not be late again? This is not your first time late!"

Well, that was like my second time!!! Anyway, i got reprimanded when I was late the first time too. That is what i get for speaking the truth. I should have cooked up a reason saying that I had stomach ache the moment i reached the JTC building. Furthermore, I was just late for 5 minutes. I am not trying to give myself excuses for being late but being 5 minutes late is still rather acceptable right.

I don't get compliments when i do well but when i don't, I am pulled into the office for some motivational talk. Hahaha.

Amazingly, the motivational talk turned out fine. Hahaha.

They said things like me being not as aggressive as before. Hahaha. According to them, they hear less of my voice now and they perceive that I had less passion for work now.

True enough, I felt tired for that week and my tiredness had indeed resulted in a poorly fared week. Hahaha.

However, I had new cases coming in the next week but I just didn feel like mentioning. Thus, i just acknowledged all that they had said.

Well, who will have the passion for work every single day? Hahaha.

Enough complaining. Hahaha.

Anyway, I am just left with 2 more weeks to go and I will be heading for China.

I will do extremely well this month!!!!!

Updates!!

It has been a long time since i last updated my blog. Hahaha.

Last sunday, i went singing with Meiqing at Party World.

OMG!!! I think i sang terribly. Hahaha. I have not been singing for a long time and my singing skills have indeed deteriorated.

I couldn catch my breath and my pitch went off most of the time. Hahhaa.

As usual, Meiqing sang beautifully!

After that, we went to dine at a cheap japanese restaurant.



Yeah, this restaurant is called Sumo House and it's near to where we were singing. Anyway, we always visit this restaurant when we go singing. Hahaha.

We ordered quite a lot of food.

Altogether, we ordered two bowls of Katsudon, a plate of Udong and a plate of fried scallops!! Well, I did take a photo of the fried scallops but Meiqing deleted the photo away accidentally. Hahaha.

Do you know how much it cost us!!!!

It just cost us around $6 each!!! OMG!!!!

WOW!!!!!!!! 省钱王!!!

Furthermore, you get to enjoy a free refill of chinese tea!!!! Lastly, all charges are not subjected to the 7% service charge!!!!

WOW!!! BOOM!!!! 哇!!! 省钱王!!!

Mediacorp

Once again, I am here to speak my views about Mediacorp.

I wonder if you guys have seen a advertisement promoting Mediacorp dramas these few days. Hahah.

Apparently, there are 10 Mediacorp's 9Pm drama in the DVD and we are all supposed to grab that now because it's absolutely cheap and worthwhile.

My thought after i saw the ad was, " WTH. Who in the right mind will get the DVD?"

Seriously, Mediacorp's dramas are really bad. I am an avid fan of HongKong dramas. There are people out there who love Taiwan and Korean dramas. These dramas all have their respective appeal. So, what is Mediacorp drama's appeal to us??

I will say WELL! THEY ARE FREE!!! Hahahaa.

Seriously, just look at what kind of dramas Mediacorp is producing.


Just look at this drama!!! I guess you guys have the eyes to see for yourself. This drama is really really boring.

Yes. Everyone is saying so but the drama is still enjoying high viewership. Why is this so? This is because we don't have a choice. There is only one TV station in Singapore!!!

I guess we should do out part now to switch off all our televisions if you think the drama is boring. This will send a message to Mediacorp!!!

OMG!!! This drama is actually reaching it's 200th episode soon. This is absolute madness.

I went to Mediacorp's official website and i found out that their mission is to deliver valued content to the world. Hahaha.

I think that their first mission is to earn as much profits as they can. Delivering valued content to their audience is just an additional bonus that we get once in a blue moon. Delivering content is all they have to do. Hahaha.

Just to name a few of their lousy productions. 《手足》，《同心圆》，《双子星》, 《乒乓圆》and many more.

I really really miss the times when i was young. I will always stay glued to the television sets because the dramas are so darn interesting.

I remember after watching 《笑傲江湖》，《神雕侠侣》 and 《东游记》, my brother and I will get plastic swords from the provision shops near our homes and start acting like we were pugilistic heroes or celestial beings. Hahaha.

I remember after watching 《和平的代价》, we starting acting like we were in the Japanese occupation era. We will wrap our sister in blankets and start running around the home with her in our hands. Hahaha. I will suddenly shout, "日本鬼子来了!" Our immediate reactions were to run as if there were Japanese soldiers going after us. Hahaha.

I remember after watching 《卫斯理传奇》, i was so afraid to take the lift because i didn wanted to be send to the 三度空间! Hahaha.

Those were the days!!! Mediacorp's dramas were so interesting to watch then!!!

I know you guys will say that I find Mediacorp's drama less interesting now because I am much older now but this is definitely not true.

When 《小娘惹》was aired, I always discuss the drama with my friends!!!

Hiaz...Welcome to the era of lousy television dramas.

Wonder why kids nowadays cant speak Chinese well. hAHAHA.

I Can Perhaps Go To China

FOR FREE!!!!

Hahaha. Yeah!!! You didn see wrongly!!!! I will be perhaps going to China for free!!! Remember the competition I took part in, the organisers are planning to pay for all my accommodation and tickets. Hahah. However, i won't be there to participate in the competition. I will just be a spectator!! Hahaha.

I have already filled up the application form. If nothing goes wrong, i will be flying to China on thr 30th of July for free. Hahaha.

Well, i am not very excited about it. Hahaha. However, i will not miss the chance since it's for free.

Anyway, I was really annoyed by the waiter at Subway today.

As you all know, i have just put on my braces. Thus, i will always request for my burgers to be cut into quarters. I will also always request for a knife and a fork whenever I am dining in a fast food restaurant.

I always have no problems with my request for a fork and a knife.

Today, i actually had!!!

I was at subway with my colleagues today. As usual, I requested for a fork and a knife.

However, the waiter's reply to me was

"The knife and the fork is only for people who ordered the salad."

What kind of reply is this!!!!

" I just need a fork and a knife because I am having braces now."

Know what the waiter replied me!!!

He said, " I can cut your burger into 4 parts instead of 3 but the knife and the fork is just for customers who had ordered the salad."

WTH!!! This is madness.

I was so annoyed till I said, " I just need my fork and knife! I can talk to your manager about it if you cant give me a knife and fork. "

The waiter reminds me of a friend that I had in the army. Everything must be according to the rules and regulations!!!

Results!!!

Friends, today was the day of my competition.

Well, i didn really do very well. Hahaha.

Just as i had expected, i failed terribly for my talent segment. Hahaha.


This was the complimentary gift that every contestant is entitled to. Hahaha. It's a electronic photo frame. I will need to figure out how this is going to work. Hahaha.

Anyway, i was third in the competition.

Meiqing mentioned that i looked rather unhappy when i went on to the stage to collect my award. Hahhaa. I wasn unhappy. I was a little dissapointed with myself then. Hahaha. I thought i could have done better.

Anyway, there was this journalist from NTU who approach me for an interview. Hahaha. Okay, don't read too much about it. I was interviewed because i was from NTU. Hahaha. I know I have not entered NTU but the organisers just introduce me as a NTU undergrad. hahah.

Apparently, she told me that i did rather well for the first segment but my talent segment was rather bad. Quite a few people from NTU came to me and told me that I did well for the first segment but for the second. Hahhaa.

Just a simple explaination of what the first segment is about. We are all assigned to a topic and the host will direct questions at us about the topic. We will need to speak our minds and the judges will judge on how well we speak. Well, i was much more confident about this segment right from the start. Hahaha. I don't want to sound boastful but i think that I speak rather well in Mandrain. Hahaha.

However, I knew that my talent will pale in comparison to the other contestants. Singing is boring and I cant sing well. The other contestants all had creative ideas on what they can perform. I was just too busy with work. Hahaha.

Okay, i got to admit that i was lazy. Hahaha.

Hahahaa..But i still got my $300 prize money!!! I really need that now because my braces treatment is cosing a bomb!!

Okay, enough about my competition.

I was watching the news when i suddenly saw that our MRT train was vandalised.

I know that the particular guy is commiting a crime but don't you guys think that the MRT train looks cool with the graffiti. Hahaha.

I think LTA should consider designing some of it's MRT trains. They should really consider designing a few of their trains as part of their efforts to support the Singapore Arts Festival. hahaha.

Hahaha. That was just a sudden thought.

Wondering

I am wondering if my participation in the Chinese competition is a right choice for me.

Because of the competition, I am forced to take a few days of leave from my work.

This has really angered my superior.

The winner of the competition gets to represent Singapore to participate in the finals in China. Seriously, i am not very confident that i will win. Furthermore, i may not be able to participate in the finals even if i win.

This is because my contract ends on the 8th of July and the competition starts on the 9th of July. Everything may seem perfect but i doubt I can fly to china on the day that the competition starts. I guess contestants will have to reach a few days before the competition starts to prepare themselves for the big event.

I am saying as if I have absolute confidence in winning but actually, i don't.

There is this particular guy who is a part time Deejay for JJ FM (Apparently, JJ Lin Jun Jie has his own FM channel). He has a really nice voice and his talent performance is really creative. If he is able to curb his nervousness on the day of the competition, he will definitely stand a good chance at emerging as the champion.

I feel that my talent performance is really weak. I am going to sing. Hahaha. I don't have a melodious voice and singing is rather boring. Some of the talent performance of the contestants will really send you going WOW!!! Hahaha.

Hopefully, i will be able to overpower my stage fright to do well in the Question and Answer segment.

Anyway, i was pondering about what to wear for my competition.

I thought that something simple will be nice.





So, I am most probably going to wear this. A simple shirt with a skinny tie.

OMG!!! Is this a little out of fashion now!!! Hahaha.

I just thought that something simple will be good. hahha.

Okay, i need to go. Time to sleep.

Lastly, work is serously driving me mad. Seriously, i feel guilty for taking leaves from work. Hiaz. This is life. Hahhaa.

Having Braces

How does it feel to have braces in your mouth?

Actually, it feels rather terrible.

It feels like having metal pieces in your mouth. Hahaha.

I just put on my braces this tuesday. Some of the metals are poking against my lips and they are causing ulcers to form.

I didn feel much strain on my teeth on the first day. However, i am starting to feel the strain on the bottom row of my teeth now. Hahaha. Furthermore, the strain is totally unbearable when you try to bite something.

I am surviving on porridge everyday now. My colleagues did mention that i am getting thinner. Hahhaa. Sometimes, i feel really annoyed because I am never full.

I cant pronounce words properly now too. Previously, i used to hate Pierre Png for speaking bad Mandarin on TV.

Now, I sound like i speak with a short tongue!! Hahhaa.

I cant say the 四是四，十是十 rhythm anymore!!!!

I am now in the midst of a competition. Previously, I thought I stand a really good chance at winning. Now, I think i am going to lost the competition because of my bad pronunciation of chinese words. Hahaha.

Okay, i need to go.

My Published Article

Friends, my article is published in 《逗号》a month ago!!!

I didn know about it until i saw my cheque. Hahaha. Got little money for an essay that was around 500 words. Hahaha.

It was published so long ago till i couldn find the original copy of 《逗号》.

Thus, I decided to just email someone from 早报 and ask for a scanned copied of that page. In the end, that lady really replied!!!!

That was really kind of her.

Anyway, this is my published article.

For those who wish to read, this was actually what i wrote.

新公民

本地的新公民逐年增加，但一部分的新加坡人却一直不太能够接受这些新移民。其实，我想这是因为新移民会为我们带来很多的竞争。

其实，新移民所带来的竞争仅仅从这些年来的会考成绩已可看出。新移民无论在去年的小六会考，O水准或A水准成绩都是本地的状元。所以，这也难怪新加坡人无法接受新移民的心理。

其实，说到竞争，我也曾受到新公民在课业上所带来的竞争。我自小学以来便开始修读高级华文。随着我年龄的增长，我的班级里的新移民就越来越多了。到了高中，我的班级里竟有接近半数的新移民。我的华文程度与他们的相比，确实有着一定的距离。所以刚开始时，我的心里很不平衡。我觉得这样的竞争很不公平。我觉得这些新移民在剥夺我进入大学的机会。

但是，我渐渐地发现拥有这样的想法根本无济于事。因为，他们的存在已经是个不争的事实了。而且，今时不同往日，现今的社会已是个国际社会。在环球化的影响下，未来的我们只要一踏出社会，我们面对的竞争将不仅仅来自我们新加坡人，而是来自全世界。

所以，我欢迎比我跟聪明的新公民因为我会遇强更强。我不是不堪一击的草莓族！外面的世界风大雨大才更值得我胆怯。我会努力地打败你们。让我们来场公平的挑战吧！

Okay, i need to admit that this was not from the bottom of my heart!!!

Now, i cant write what i wish to write. I need to commercialised my articles because i want them to be published. Hahhaa.

Anyway, I am glad that both my tuitees improved and this means that they will continue their tuition!!!!!

I really need more money!!!!! Hahhaa.

Who Should Be The Ambassador?

Who should be the ambassador for the Speak Good Chinese Movement?

Actually, I always wanted to comment about this.

Previously, we saw Tanya Chua and JJ Lin as our ambassador for the Speak Good Chinese Movement.

I thought they are still okay but i once saw Pierre Png in the Speak Good Chinese Movement ad. I thought that was indeed insane. Pierre Png has a really bad command of the chinese language. How in the hell can he appear in the ad!!! Hahaha.

All along, i think that this lady is a really really good choice.

She is

none other than Diana Ser.

If i didn remember wrongly, Diana graduated with a bachelor in Mass Communications.

We all know that she speaks English really well.

But do you guys know that she has a equally strong command of chinese too?

I think that she is the perfect role model!!! She is effectively bilingual!!

However, my friends told me that she comes from a rich family. The upbringing is different. Haha.

It's true to a certain extent but i still think she is the perfect ambassador for the Speak Good Chinese Movement!!!

Isn she what our government want us to be? To be equally strong in both of our languages.

How Singapore Dramas Can Venture Overseas

Today, i am going to talk about how local drams can venture overseas.

Mediacorp's drama are at their worst times now. That is what i personally feel. Hahhaa.

Anyway, if Mediacorp wishes to venture into the big market of Taiwan, China and Hongkong, they really need to buck up.

I have a few ideas on how they can do it better.

1) 古装剧

古装剧 is a type of drama that can venture into the overseas market easily. This is because the chinese population will be familiar with 金庸's novels. Therefore, even without the support of a big cast, the dramas will still strike a chord among viewers.

Think 《神雕侠侣》，《东游记》and 《笑傲江湖》. These dramas have all entered the Taiwanese, Chinese and Hongkong market. Therefore, 古装剧 is really a type of drama that Mediacorp can consider producing.






Wonder why Mediacorp don't produce 古装剧 now. This is because it requires a lot of money to produce a 古装剧. Furthermore, it's almost impossible to get sponsors for a 古装剧. Can you imagine 小龙女 bathing in a bathtub with Lux bottles just beside her? Or can you imagine 东方不败 eating London Chocolate roll? Hahaha. That is insane man!!!

2) Idol Dramas

Idol dramas are easy to produce. Mediacorp can get sponsors for idol dramas too. However, why cant Mediacorp idol dramas venture overseas?

This is because they are simply not producing idol dramas. Till now, only 《星锁》is an idol drama to me.



From what i know, 《星锁》is screened in Vietnam and Fann Wong's popularity soared after the screening of the show. However, i am not too sure if the show did screen in other countries. Hahaha.

See~~!!!

OMG!! The Vietnamese even created a video for her. Hahhaa.

I know what you are thinking now!!!! 《任我遨游》and other idol dramas that Mediacorp produced are not idol dramas. Hahhaa.

Just look at The Champion. Just look at the cast. We have Fiona Xie, Qi Yu Wu, Yan Xin Shu, Xiao Qiao, Jeanette Aw and Toro. Not forgetting Moses Lim, Julian hee and many others who have acted in the show.

Woo~~!!! What a big cast!!!! Isn this an idol drama. Just look at Taiwan and Korea's idol dramas. Just look at《流星花园》，《宫－我的野蛮王妃》，《命中注定我爱你》and 《秋天的童话》. These dramas all only have a few main leads and the storyline revolves around their relationship.

Who wants to see Moses Lim struggling in the water just to salvage his about to expire lifeguard license. We rather watch him as Tan Ah Tech in Under One Roof!!!

3) Period dramas

Period dramas like 《出路》，《和平的代价》and 《小娘惹》have ventured into the China market.



According to the Chinese websites, 《小娘惹》managed to garner a rather high viewership despite little publicity.

So, a good script is still what it takes. Hahhaa.

Anyway, it really still boils down to the script. If we get more《乒乓圆》and《双子星》，I guess everyone will start switching to cable tv. Seriously, relying just on 洪荣狄 is not enough. I think the government should get TVB into Singapore. That will be really great!!! Hahaha.

Seriously, i feel like posing a question to him.

Trap A Roach

The title of this entry suggests something to do with the trapping of a pest.

My mother chanced upon this special equipment that allows the easy capture of pests. OMG!!! It's really a great invention!!!!

Okay, the equipment actually looks like this.



Okay, beneath the wrong recycled papers is actually a sticky pad. Before you place this invention somwhere, you got to peel that recycled paper away.



After peeling the paper away, you can place a bait in the middle of the "box". After that, you need to do some simple fixing and it will transform into a mini "box".

From the top, it looks like this.

After the setting up of the box, you can place it somewhere in the kitchen.

Within minutes, something will happen!!!!

I am not kidding you!!!! You just need an hour if that particular place is pest infected.

Hahha!!! Isn this amazing!!!! Yes, i know it's supposed to trap cockroaches. However, lizards always ended up getting traped. Hahaha. Anyway, i hate lizards more so I guess it's really fine that this trap works more effectively for lizards.

My mother once tried to recycled the "Trap A Roach" by removing the lizard from the sticky pad. In the end, the sticky pad was so sticky till the lizard was totally deciminated in the midst of the pulling. Hahaha.

I cashed out my money from Nuffnang

Felt so glad today as I received a cheque from Nuffnang today.

I am finally able to cashed out my earnings after signing up with Nuffnang 2 years ago. Hahhaa. I think Meiqing and my sister did contribute a little to my earnings. Hahhahaa.

Candidates That Anger Me

It's a long entry. Please be prepared. Hahaha.

After working in my current company for 3 weeks, you will find out that there are some candidates who really anger you!!!

I was so pissed off with one of my candidates yesterday. Apparently, we address those who are looking for jobs as candidates.

There was this particular guy who called me almost everyday to questioned me after i interviewed him.

He will ask, " So how is it on your side? Are there any suitable jobs for me?"

I was so vexed by his constant rantings that i decided to find him a job quickly.

Finally, there was a customer service job for Starhub at Vivo City. They are paying $7 a hour and it's a 5 day work week job. However, the staff will be required to work during weekends.

I told him all the details of the job and he was okay with it. I then arranged an interview for him. I got to be frank that i didn expect him to get the job AT ALL. First, he was from China. (But i got to admit that his command of English was rather fine) Next, he has a nerdy look. Third, he has a bad fashion sense. This will all deter him from getting the customer service job.

However, i really got a shock of my life when the client called. They actually selected him out of the 5 candidates they had interviewed.

OMG!!!!! I was actually pinning my hopes on another candidate whom i had arranged for an interview too.

Of course, I arranged for him to come down to sign the contract the very next day. Of course, he agreed to the job over the phone.

THEN........

HE CALLED ME YESTERDAY TO REJECT THE OFFER!!!!

WTF!!!!!!!

THE REASON WAS HE FELT THAT HE WASN COMFORTABLE WITH THE BURNING OF HIS WEEKENDS.

WTF!!!!!!

I was so annoyed! I asked him, " You shld know about the working hours during the interview. Furthermore, I already informed you about it over the phone before you went for the interview. If you are not comfortable with it. You shldn have gone down for the interview or you could have at least rejected the offer yesterday when i called you!!'

PLEASE PEOPLE!!! LISTEN TO HIS REASON!!!!!!

" You called me just half an hour after the interview. I was in the MRT. I couldn decide properly. It was just half an hour!!!!!"

WTF!!!! HE WAS FROM RJ OKAY!!!

I was really really furious then.

" What do you mean by you cant decide after the interview? You are from a top school and now you are telling me you cant even decide? How do you expect me to answer to my client. You already gave your verbal promise and the client is expecting someone to start work on Monday!"

"Darren, I am really sorry but i got to reject you offer. You need to know. Such things do happen."

What sort of reason is this!?!?!

Anyway, i was so pissed off by him till i couldn concentrate on work the whole afternoon.

Darn shit. Darn cheena poks.
