I think I have been driven crazy by my tutee's mother. Hahhaa.
Somehow, i feel that I will be asked to do a presentation on Singapore during my exchange studies in the National TsingHua University of Taiwan! Hahaha. Thus, I have been thinking about the "presentation".
Okay, i think i am insane! hahaha.
I went to Youtube to look for a few videos and I found that I really do love my country!!! Hahaha. I feel that I will miss Singapore when I am in Taiwan. Okay, that is a little far fetched. I may not be able to go to Taiwan too. I still need to wait for their approval!!!
Anyway, this is my favourite song!!!
I love this song because it's really patriotic!
Even though I dread the weather of Singapore and I always complain about her lack of attractions to visit, i still love my country.
However, i feel that Singapore is the no longer the country that i know!! I remember I only have 1 or 2 classmates from China when I was studying in primary school. However, I found out that there are more and more students from China around me as I grow older. I feel that there are even more foreigners then locals whenever I take the train. This is my country but I dont see locals!!! Why is this happening!! A few days ago, my Malaysian friend said that 新加坡 is now 中国坡! Hahaha.
Seriously, i dont mind foreigners who really love Singapore! These foreign talents are what we really want. However, we are getting many who are just here for money. Every year, thousands of foreigners become Singaporeans but they dont have a sense of belonging to the country. I think these foreigners merely recite the pledge and sing our national anthem and they will be handed their pink IC! In Korea, foreigners who wish to become Koreans need to at least stay in the country for a certain amount of years. They will also have to sit for exams which test them on their command of the Korean language and history.
Shouldn Singapore make all new immigrants go through such tests? I think these new immigrants should be tested on their English speaking skills and the Singapore history. I think they should be even tested on Singish! For example, what does "Dont play play and Mai Xiao Xiao" means? Hahaha.
Even though I really hope that Singapore will have less foreign talents but I know that this is definitely going to cripple our economy. We will have a really small population of around 3 million. Companies will close down due to a lack of demand, our overall GPA will decline and no one wants to take up cleaning and construction jobs!! I really have no solution to this! Anyone has a solution to this?!?! The Japanese are really patriotic and they make it really hard for foreigners to become citizens and thus, they are facing a economic downturn!!
I think we should have a "Give Birth to 3" policy! It is just insane to ask Singaporeans to have 3 or more if you can!!! The Singapore government should paint a beautiful picture of having 3 children and Zoe Tay should be made the ambassador for this campaign!!! Hahaha.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, TAXIS SHOULD BE ABLE TO SIT 5 PASSENGERS INSTEAD OF 4!!!!!
The government keep asking families to give birth to more kids but taxis can only sit a maximum of 4 passengers. This is being so unreasonable because families of 5 cannot sit in a single cab when they wish to take a cab. They will have to sit in a different cabs and this will increase their expenses. Their kids are still young and they cant possibly take the train. Furthermore, you need to take a look at how crowded trains are!! Their babies will probably get flung of their hands when kiasu passengers rush to get into the train!!
Anyway, having 3 kids is really the optimal amount of kids to have. First, it is at least above the replacement level and a 4 or 5 room flat will be able to accommodate 5 family members!!! A car cannot even accommodate more than 5 passengers (Unless it's a 7 seater), so it is really crazy to get people to give birth to 3 or more!!!
The government should really listen to my advice. Start campaigns on "Give birth to 3!" Make Zoe Tay the ambassador now!!! Hahaha. With more babies, we will not have to rely on foreign talents. Hahaha.
Anyway, do you realise that the Singapore government dont really love to perserve our culture!
First, they kill all our dialects. Then, they hope that Singaporeans dont speak Singlish. Then, they renovate all our wet markets and hawker centres. I dont know what they wish to do next.
Singaporeans who dont speak Singlish? Isnt that weird? This is our culture and it's a form of national identity!!!
I dont understand why wet markets and hawker centres need to renovated and they become so clean, neat and tidy. Rents are raised and hawkers leave and we dont get our good and cheap food. The Singapore government wants everything to be clean, neat and tidy but they do not understand that hawker centres and wet markets that are too clean, neat and tidy really lose the human touch!!
Taiwan is a country where there are the most number of entrepreneurs. That is because the Taiwanese can just "own" a stall in night markets if they wish to sell their handmade stuff. Even though the police do arrest and fine them, they dont really enforce the rules on these "hawkers" and make sure that they never return to the night markets. With the great variety of stalls in the night markets, it is no wonder that night markets are voted the most worth visiting attractions in Taiwan. In Singapore, you need liscenses for everything and everything must be arranged neatly. Even in the markets, stalls cannot place their items OUT OF THE LINE!!! Hongkong has bad urban planning. Streets are messy and buildings just spring out of nowhere. However, there are still many photographers who wish to take photos of the streets of Hongkong!! Thus, i guess this really explains my point. Haha.
Okay, i am tired. Hahaha.
Even though I complain about Singapore, I really do love Singapore! I feel that our country is really safe and we have little smokers in Singapore. Hahaha. I just hope that our country will progress. I also need to give some credit to the government for developing the economy well. I guess this will not be my main concerns if the unemployment rate of Singapore is about 10% and our overall GPA is only 1/2 of Malaysia. Hahaha.
The general election is coming soon. I am so excited. I love politics.
Okay, i know this is a random entry.
BYE~!
