Skin Woes (Part 3)

I have faced skin problems since I was around 16 and it just got worst when I entered the army.

After I ord, my doctor from National Skin Centre recommended me to take a kind of antibiotics. My skin condition was really bad when I had just ord. Fortunately, the antibodies worked and my skin improved.

Apparently, my friends have also complemented that my skin has improved recently.

However, I am completing my course soon.

I am just left with this.

The antibiotics that savalge my bad skin condition.

However, i am afraid that once i stopped my course, my skin conditions will revert back to the past. I really dont wish to have bad skin again.

Nowadays, I get really paranoid whenever my face feel a slight itch. I will feel that I have a pimple outbreak! Hahaha.

Furthermore, my doctor have told me that one will normally not see an outbreak 1 or 2 months after you first complete the course.

That scare me even more.

That meant that I will experience my pimple outbreak when I am in Taiwan if I can successfully go for my exchange.

OMG!!!! I dont want Taiwanese to feel that Singaporeans have bad skin!!!

I really hope that nothing happens after I finish my course.

Please pray for me!

Anyway, I went to NSC today and I enquired about the laser treatment.

Apparently, i was told that I can only undergo the laser treatment 6 months after I complete my course. Furthermore, I can only go for the laser treatment if there is no outbreaks anymore.

Just take a look at the cost of the laser treatment!!

I will need around 3 treatments.

HOWEVER,

my doctor also mentioned that the skin of my face will never be able be like that of my arm.

OMG!!!

SADDENING.

DEVASTATED.

Hahaha. The laser treatments can only reduce the scars and the redness!!!

Neverthess, I am still going to do it next year if everything goes fine. Hahahhaa.

Friends, please pray for me.

Instep (Part 3-The Stool Test)

Trust me!!

You will be disgusted by this entry. Hahaha.

I am sorry about that. You can leave my blog now if you wish to.

Anyway, due to some miscommunication between the National Tsing Hua University Of Taiwan and INSTEP office, I was told that I had to hand in my application package again.

To my horror, i actually did not make a photocopy of all the necessary documents despite being asked to do so before we hand in our application. I thought that I cant go to Taiwan anymore.

Fortunately, I made a call to Taiwan and the staff there was really helpful. She actually sent me all my documents. I am really grateful to her. I think I will be most probably getting her pandan cake when I am heading to Taiwan!

Dont belittle our pandan cake. Many HongKong and Taiwan artises love them. One of them include popular Taiwanese singer Jiang Hui!!!

Hahha.

Okay, that is not the main point.

The main point is we actually need to do a health check up once again. This time, we have to do a stool test!!!!

In other words, it just meant SHIT test.

It was really fucking disgusting. We will given a cylinder and there is a spoon attached to the cap of the cylinder. We need to clear our bowels and use THAT FUCKING SPOON TO SCOOP UP A LITTLE OF OUR SHIT AND PLACE IT INTO THE BOTTLE.

OMG!!! IT WAS DARN FUCKING DISGUSTING.

Can you imagine how disgusting it was to actually scoop your own darn shit!!!

OMG!!! I almost went crazy.

After that, we need to wrap that transparent cylinder with toliet paper to cover that unsightly piece of dung.

I believe that is also to avoid stares from others while we are making our way from the toliet back to the medical centre!!! Hahaha.

Okay, that is the end of the stool test.

Anyway, I wrote this entry also in hope of spurring myself on for the exams which are just round the corner.

I am a lot lazier this semester and this is extremely worring.

I hope that looking at this photo will make me work harder to mantain my gpa. I desparately need to mantain my gpa!!!!

OMG.

I hope I am going to be really fashionable when I am in Taiwan.

AHHH!!! Just take a look at how fashionable he is!!! I dont think anyone will not look fashionable with scarfs and coats!! I am so glad that I will get to wear coats and scarfs soon!!! Depsite living for 22 years, I haven had the experience of wearing winter clothes!! AHHH!!!

I have set myself targets to acheive this semester too. I need to mantain my gpa and this is how I am going to do it.

HC203 (Tang and Song Literature): B+
HC205 (China History) : B
HMM2 (Malay Language Level 2) : A
CS100 (Communication Studies) : B+ or A-
HA103 (Intro to Public Policy) : SU

This will be my aim for this semester.

Everyone, lets all work hard towards better grades!!!!

I hope that no natural disaster of any scale will befall Taiwan!!! I really wish to visit Taiwan!!!

General Election

The general election is drawing near and I am rather excited about it.

I am always very interested in politics. I know this is really unusual because I am still really young. Hahahha.

I really wont dismiss the possibility of me joining politics in future.

However, I feel that young Singaporeans are really not very concerned about politics in Singapore. This is our country! We should be more concerned!

Anyway, I am really glad that the opposition had said that they will try to contest in all wards because that means that I will get to vote! I am rather thrilled because this will be my first time voting.

I have got people telling me that they can only vote for the ruling party because they are holding a government job. That is so not true.

Take a look at this.

The Singapore government is one of the top governments in the world. I dont think they will single people out just because they vote for the opposition.

It's our right to vote for whichever party we think will best serve us!!!

Therefore, please take a look at the video, Meiqing.

I am NOT saying that we should all vote for the opposition.

Once again, it boils down to who you think will best serve you!!

I am not supportive of all opposition parties too. I just feel that the Worker's Party is a credible opposition. Looking at how Low Thia Kiang and Sylvia Lim handles the media, I believe they are really smart people.

Anyway, you should take a look at Sylvia Lim's speech on ministers' salaries.

Seriously, our ministers are taking a pay too high!!! We can even hire President Obama to work in our parliment! Hahaha. Ministers are drawing $100 000 a month!

If the pay is going to stay for good, I will be earning such a salary in future if i am elected. Hahhaa. Yay~~!!!! Hahaha.

Okay. I need to make my stand well. I do appreciate what the PAP has done for us. I do support quite a few of their candidates too. I think Singapore will not be as prosperous today without them.

Enough said.

Please do cast your vote properly.

YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE. YOU SERIOUSLY DO. DONT BELITTLE YOUR VOTE.

I need to go back to my books.

Projects in University doesn seem to end. =(

She Is Even More Famous Than Leticia Now

When this photo was first posted on stomp, many netizens were outraged.

I think this guy is so pampered. I seriously cant believe that he wants his maid to carry his field pack for him. I wonder how he survived his field camp.

I feel that the field pack is really heavy and I dont think it is alright for him to let a female carry it for him despite her being a domestic helper!

Anyway, that is not the main point.

Singaporeans are getting more and more creative.

Lets take a look at how creative they are.

HAHAHAHAH~~!!!!

She is even more famous than Leticia now!!!

Random

Japan is having a devastating disaster now and I really hope that the relevant authorities can curb the nuclear reactors.

I am glad that my Japanese friends are safe and I am so impressed by the Japanese. Despite a disaster of such scale, they still queue up to get onto trains. Those affected also queue up for rations in an orderly manner even though there is a large fear for food shortage.

Until now, there has not been any major cases of looting occurring.

Dont you think this is amazing!

Take a look at this.

The Japanese are so calm despite such a tragedy.

Singaporeans are already rushing into trains even when our country has not met with any disaster. Some just refused to let others alight the train first!! There are a few who refused to stand to the left of escalators!

I think Singapore is a really safe country and this is what I am really glad about. We can just leave our bags on the seats and go get our meals without having to fear that our bags will be stolen.

However, we seriously still have a long long long way to go when it comes to having a gracious and courteous society.

Take a look at this.

What is about the frantic craze to get story books from newly opened national library. This is crazy. I didn know that Singaporeans are so into reading.

They just want to get new books. Isn that lame. They still need to return the books~!!! If a disaster of such scale happen in Singapore, everyone will rush and snatch for rations. I dont think we will be queuing up!

Immediately after Japan's earthquake, shameless mediacorp rushes in to make money out of japan quake.

Dont you think Mediacorp is crazy.

You dont earn this kind of money. As a reputable news station, Channel News Asia should stive to bring Singaporeans the latest updates and not rushing to cash in while a disaster of such happened.

No tv liscense so they earn money this way?!?!

Seriously, i think they can earn much more money with better productions. Just look at their latest production--

Oh, once again, it is back to an-ugly-duckling-who-battled-her-disease-and-strives-to-help-as-many-people-as-she-can-and-in-the-end-she-will-live-happily-ever-after plot.

I can even write the story. Why do we need mediacorp do come up with lousy scripts like this!! I wonder how many times they have used the-ugly-duckling plot!!!! Seriously, mediacorp needs intervention from the government. Stop giving us lousy productions.

I think Channel U is doing a good job in it's production. 《一切完美》and 《拍卖》are good productions. I am already interested in the dramas even before they are aired. These dramas have good plots and they are not your typical family dramas!!

Mediacorp really needs to put more effort into the writing of scripts. Money will start coming in when the productions becomes a hit. The little nyonya is a fine example.

Okay, i have digressed. I just cant stop complaining about Mediacorp once I start on it.

Anyway, i really hope that Japan will recover soon.

I still hope to visit my friends in Japan.

Skin Woes (Part 2

I am quite glad that my Chinese literature mid term paper is over even though I know I will do quite badly for it.

It's okay. I will try my best for my final term. I will work hard to catch up with my friends during the recess week.

Ehhh....I hope i will.

Anyway, I think i am a little obsessed with My Beautiful Diary. Hahha.

My Beautiful Diary, more popularly known as 我的美丽日记, is actually the name for a face mask from Taiwan. This face mask is rather popular among many Singaporeans.

I will always ask my friend to bring this face mask back for me whenever they visit Taiwan. This is because the face masks are much cheaper in Taiwan. A box of face mask only cost $10 in Taiwan but it cost $14.50 in Singapore.

Okay, i admit that it is not lots of money but I think you can save quite a bit if you buy in bulk. Hahah.

I am getting so many of my friends to get the face masks back for me till I think I am having too much of it now. Hahaha.

This is the amount of 我的美丽日记 i have!!

2 boxes of it and around 14 more pieces. Hahaha.

Personally, I like the aloe vera face mask because it is really mild and it moisturise the skin. A few of my friends also prefer the aloe vera face masks to other flavours. If you are wondering which flavour of face mask to begin with, start with the aloe vera one.

I personally dont recommend the red wine face mask. However, you can still give it a try if you wish to.

My friends also recommended me to try the bird nest face mask.

I just got my friend to get me a box of it. I will get to try it soon. Hahha.

I am going to stock up hell lots of this when I am in Taiwan. I think i will be bringing back around 20 boxes of face mask. Hahaha.

Actually, I am rather surprised when some of my friends are rather shocked that I actually uses face masks to care for my skin.

Ehhh..this is already the 21st century. Even man needs to take care of their skin. I seriously dont see any problem with it.

Seriously, i dont see any significant improvement in my skin after using the face masks but I guess it helps psychologically. Hahaha. Anyway, I believe i will look more youthful than my peers of the same age in future if I uses it more often now. I think it is definitely of some help because 牛尔老师 recommended all his viewers to use face masks for their skin.

He is very proficient in his field~!! Hahaha.

Anyway, I always get bad remarks when I have really bad acne previously. It is still not really good but it is much better now. I remember people calling me "moh peng" and there were a few who compared me with Mark Lee too. I was always asked to take better care of my skin when I had really bad skin last time.

So, why cant I be taking care of my skin. I dont wish to be called names again!! Wahhhhh~!!!! Hahaha.

Anyway, this proves that you cant please everyone. Just be yourself.

Mid Term

I am so going to fail my exams this semester.
I am just not working hard enough! I cant finish revising.

I am not working hard!! I am getting complacent!!
Darn~!! My mid term next week will be a waking alarm!!!
I am so going to do flung that.

I Love My Country

I think I have been driven crazy by my tutee's mother. Hahhaa.

Somehow, i feel that I will be asked to do a presentation on Singapore during my exchange studies in the National TsingHua University of Taiwan! Hahaha. Thus, I have been thinking about the "presentation".

Okay, i think i am insane! hahaha.

I went to Youtube to look for a few videos and I found that I really do love my country!!! Hahaha. I feel that I will miss Singapore when I am in Taiwan. Okay, that is a little far fetched. I may not be able to go to Taiwan too. I still need to wait for their approval!!!

Anyway, this is my favourite song!!!

I love this song because it's really patriotic!

Even though I dread the weather of Singapore and I always complain about her lack of attractions to visit, i still love my country.

However, i feel that Singapore is the no longer the country that i know!! I remember I only have 1 or 2 classmates from China when I was studying in primary school. However, I found out that there are more and more students from China around me as I grow older. I feel that there are even more foreigners then locals whenever I take the train. This is my country but I dont see locals!!! Why is this happening!! A few days ago, my Malaysian friend said that 新加坡 is now 中国坡! Hahaha.

Seriously, i dont mind foreigners who really love Singapore! These foreign talents are what we really want. However, we are getting many who are just here for money. Every year, thousands of foreigners become Singaporeans but they dont have a sense of belonging to the country. I think these foreigners merely recite the pledge and sing our national anthem and they will be handed their pink IC! In Korea, foreigners who wish to become Koreans need to at least stay in the country for a certain amount of years. They will also have to sit for exams which test them on their command of the Korean language and history.

Shouldn Singapore make all new immigrants go through such tests? I think these new immigrants should be tested on their English speaking skills and the Singapore history. I think they should be even tested on Singish! For example, what does "Dont play play and Mai Xiao Xiao" means? Hahaha.

Even though I really hope that Singapore will have less foreign talents but I know that this is definitely going to cripple our economy. We will have a really small population of around 3 million. Companies will close down due to a lack of demand, our overall GPA will decline and no one wants to take up cleaning and construction jobs!! I really have no solution to this! Anyone has a solution to this?!?! The Japanese are really patriotic and they make it really hard for foreigners to become citizens and thus, they are facing a economic downturn!!

I think we should have a "Give Birth to 3" policy! It is just insane to ask Singaporeans to have 3 or more if you can!!! The Singapore government should paint a beautiful picture of having 3 children and Zoe Tay should be made the ambassador for this campaign!!! Hahaha.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, TAXIS SHOULD BE ABLE TO SIT 5 PASSENGERS INSTEAD OF 4!!!!!

The government keep asking families to give birth to more kids but taxis can only sit a maximum of 4 passengers. This is being so unreasonable because families of 5 cannot sit in a single cab when they wish to take a cab. They will have to sit in a different cabs and this will increase their expenses. Their kids are still young and they cant possibly take the train. Furthermore, you need to take a look at how crowded trains are!! Their babies will probably get flung of their hands when kiasu passengers rush to get into the train!!

Anyway, having 3 kids is really the optimal amount of kids to have. First, it is at least above the replacement level and a 4 or 5 room flat will be able to accommodate 5 family members!!! A car cannot even accommodate more than 5 passengers (Unless it's a 7 seater), so it is really crazy to get people to give birth to 3 or more!!!

The government should really listen to my advice. Start campaigns on "Give birth to 3!" Make Zoe Tay the ambassador now!!! Hahaha. With more babies, we will not have to rely on foreign talents. Hahaha.

Anyway, do you realise that the Singapore government dont really love to perserve our culture!

First, they kill all our dialects. Then, they hope that Singaporeans dont speak Singlish. Then, they renovate all our wet markets and hawker centres. I dont know what they wish to do next.

Singaporeans who dont speak Singlish? Isnt that weird? This is our culture and it's a form of national identity!!!

I dont understand why wet markets and hawker centres need to renovated and they become so clean, neat and tidy. Rents are raised and hawkers leave and we dont get our good and cheap food. The Singapore government wants everything to be clean, neat and tidy but they do not understand that hawker centres and wet markets that are too clean, neat and tidy really lose the human touch!!

Taiwan is a country where there are the most number of entrepreneurs. That is because the Taiwanese can just "own" a stall in night markets if they wish to sell their handmade stuff. Even though the police do arrest and fine them, they dont really enforce the rules on these "hawkers" and make sure that they never return to the night markets. With the great variety of stalls in the night markets, it is no wonder that night markets are voted the most worth visiting attractions in Taiwan. In Singapore, you need liscenses for everything and everything must be arranged neatly. Even in the markets, stalls cannot place their items OUT OF THE LINE!!! Hongkong has bad urban planning. Streets are messy and buildings just spring out of nowhere. However, there are still many photographers who wish to take photos of the streets of Hongkong!! Thus, i guess this really explains my point. Haha.

Okay, i am tired. Hahaha.

Even though I complain about Singapore, I really do love Singapore! I feel that our country is really safe and we have little smokers in Singapore. Hahaha. I just hope that our country will progress. I also need to give some credit to the government for developing the economy well. I guess this will not be my main concerns if the unemployment rate of Singapore is about 10% and our overall GPA is only 1/2 of Malaysia. Hahaha.

The general election is coming soon. I am so excited. I love politics.

Okay, i know this is a random entry.

BYE~!

I know its really really not very ethical of me to complain about my tutee on my blog but I really cant help it!!!

I am so annoyed with my tutee's mother.

She is a crazy woman!!! Insane shit!!!!

She hopes that I dont give homework to her daughter because her daughter has a lot of homework from school. She hopes that I end on time because her daughter will be really tired.

Isn she insane!!!!

I thought mothers will be really happy when tutors stay longer than the stipulated time to teach their child!! This mother is seriously crazy. Her daughter is a student and her priority is to study. She should be working hard. I seriously dont think that she has lots of homework. I dont remember having lots of homework when I was in primary school!!! I understand that times are different but another tuitee of mine doesn has any problem finishing my homework despite coming from the same school and also being in Primary 4.

Okay, that is all fine if her daughter is already scoring Band 1 for her subjects!

However, her daughter is not doing so!!!! Her maths is really poor.

Even at primary 4, she is still unfamilar with the 3 times table!!!

"What is 7 times 4?"

My tuitee will think for a long long time and know what her reply was....

"21"

OMG!!!!! How can you expect me not to be strict with her. She is in Primary 4!!!!

She doesn know why 242 can be divided by 2 but why 547 cant~! OMG!!!! Isn this worrying!!!

That's still fine. What's more worrying is her mother!!!!

"XXXX, do you know the meaning of increasing order? Increasing order means from small to big." Apparently, she had arrange the numbers from big to small.

Guess what was her reply!!!!

"But my mother say increasing order is from big to small." OMG!!!

Be prepared for the worst. "老师,这题你教她,她不会做。Why is 4 a factor of 12?"

"Oh, because 12 can be divided by 4."

My tutee started writing down her answer in your work book and she pause suddenly because she didn know how to spell divided.

She turned to her mother and said, "妈妈, how to spell divided?"

Mother: "EHh........D.................E.....D..I"

OMG!!!!!!

Okay, that is still fine.

Her mother has really gone insane today. I was complaining to her about how inattentive her daughter is in school but I guess she doesn know how serious the situation is!

"你知道她上课一点都不专心吗?她在她的maths课本里做的问题,她都没有做对,但是她mark她自己对。所以,她上课的时候一点都没有专心。"

OH~~!!! Come on~!!! PREPARE FOR HER ULTIMATE ANSWER!!!!!

GUESS WHAT SHE SAID!!!!

COME ON!!! GUESS!!!!!!

GO ON!!! GUESS!!!! YOU WONT GET IT RIGHT!!!

THIS WAS WHAT SHE SAID!!!!

"所以我才请你来啊!所以我才请你来教她!"

OMG!!! That is exactly what an irresponsible parent will say. I was so annoyed with her words. She needs to take up parenting lessons!!!!

Teacher: Your child is not behaving in school. He is really rowdy and he is disrupting the class."

Irresponsible Parent: That is why I send him to school. You need to teach him!

Isn what she said similar to that of what an irresponsible parent!!!!!!

I was already fuming mad and she suddenly to add oil onto fire.

"我觉得你应该多鼓励她,可能换一个方式,不要这么凶.其实,我觉得你的教学方式根本没有学生可以接受!"

OMG!!!!!

THAT IS SO DISRESPECTFUL OF HER!!!!

I really feel like giving her a slap on her face. She needs to wake up!

She really needs to take up parenting lessons!!!! Her daughter's future will be ruined in her hands!!!!

Crazy woman!

When Jay Chou was young, he hated to play the piano. That is because his mother will sit beside him and cane him whenever he starts to slack. He hated playing the piano so much back then. However, he is now grateful to his mother for all that she had done! Can someone tell me why! He composes his songs now and he is now one of the greatest singing sensation in Asia. He owes it all to his mother!!

What about my tutee's mother?!?!

OMG! I need to stop now before i get really infuriated.

Bye!

INSTEP (Part 2)

In my previous entry, I mentioned about me missing the chance to go for my exchange due to the strong competition but I found out that there release of the exchange placements were actually yesterday instead of the 8th and 9th of Feb. Hahaha.

Anyway, I received an email from INSTEP yesterday.

OMG!!!! I was really nervous when I opened the email.

Tada~!!!!!

Read what I had circled!!!!

"Congratulations Students. After careful review, we are pleased to offer you an exchange placement in the International Student Exchange Program (INSTEP)"

Okay, the very next thing I had to do was to go the NTU website to check out if I got the school that I wanted.

I had placed City University of HongKong as my 2nd choice but I very much prefer to go to Taiwan for my exchange.

Even though we were told that we seldom get our second choices but FREAK accidents do happen!!!!

Forunately.....

I got a placement at the National Tsing Hua University of Taiwan.

WOO~~!!!

Mom is thrilled too.

Because that means that she will be able to visit me during her holidays!!!!! Hahaha.

I hope nothing goes wrong and I will be able to head to Taiwan next semester. There are hell lots of admin stuff to settle!!!!! Argh!!!!

Okay, it's 1.28am and I need my beauty sleep.

Bye.

Random

I am a little disappointed because I dont think I get to go to Taiwan for my exchange next semester.

Competition is just too strong.

I am still left with one more day.

I really hope that I will receive good news tomorrow!!!!

It's fine if I dont get to go for my exchange. I will work harder this sem and go to Taiwan in Year 2 Sem 2.

Anyway, I was heading to my friend's birthday party when someone suddenly stopped me.

"你好,我觉得你长得很高,而且我觉得你应该还蛮上镜的,你要不要成为我们公司的模特儿?"

OMG!!!! I wont be that stupid to think that I can actually be a model.

Of course, i rejected.

"我一点都不帅,不可以成为你们的模特儿。真的不用紧。"

Know what was her reply.

"没关系,我们公司模特儿不是伸展台的模特儿。我们也有平面和广告,你可以留下你的联络号码,让我们的工作人员通知你。"

OMG!!!! I pity the photographer who has to do the photo shop for me if I really did a photo shoot. I wonder how much effort is required to make my skin clear. Hahaha.

Anyway, this was my reply.

"真的不用紧。其实你近看,我的皮肤真的很差。我真的不适合"

The lady insisted on having my number even after me pushing my cheeks closer to her eyes. Hahaha. She must have felt that I am really gullible. Hahaha.

I am seriously not that stupid to believe that I can be a model.

The lady actually passed me a name card and their company is in Dhoby Ghaut. Anyway, I have already threw their name card away. They will most probably talk me into paying the company a few hundred dollars to get my model cards done if I really go to their company for the interview. Hahaha. I am not that crazy.

Anyway, I enjoyed my Chinese New Year really much and it's time for me to go back to my books.

I need to do really well this semester because I may not get to go to Taiwan for my exchange. Wahhhh!!!

Okay, i need to study now. Bye.

Happy Chinese New Year!!!!

I love the Chinese New Year but I hate to do spring cleaning!!!

That is because my nose is extremely sensitive to dust and I will start sneezing once I start my spring cleaning.

Furthermore, my room is always in a mess!!!!

I dont usually pack my room and it's in a real mess yesterday when I decided to embark on the torturous process of spring cleaning.

I wish I have a maid to do this for me.

TAKE A DEEP BREATH!

THIS IS HOW MESSY MY ROOM IS!!!! HAHAHA.

Hahaha. I didn deliberately mess things up.

YESH!!! I know it's darn messy!!!

Notice that my blanket and bedsheets are of different colours. Hahaha. That is because my whole room can be really dirty but my pillow case MUST be really really clean. Thus, I make sure that I change my pillow cover once a week. I do that because Show Lo says that changing pillow covers will give you better skin and I thought it made sense too.

Please do not say that my skin is bad because of my untidy room.

MY SKIN WAS AT IT'S WORST WHEN I WAS IN ARMY!!

Despite my bunk mates and I cleaning our rooms and changing our bedsheets every week, my skin was still close to rotting!!!! It was really bad!

Now, many of my friends have said that my skin has improved despite me having an unitdy room!!!!

I know it's quite an irony because I feel that a clean pillow cover is crucial to having a good skin but not a clean room......

BUT BAD SKIN IS MOST PROBABLY DUE TO GENES~!!!!!!

I remember our Sergent Major will always ask us if we will let our cupboard tops be filled with dust when we never did our area cleaning well.

Actually, I am sorry but Sergent Major, my cupboard and shelves top are always this dusty!!!

Okay, I know it's a little disgusting.

Anyway, I did my spring cleaning and my bedroom is now really really clean.

TADA~!!!

LOOK~!!! My shelves are so clean.

I really did a great job.

My new bedsheet looks soOOO yellow!!!! Hahaha. I didn know that it will turn out THIS yellow. I feel a royalty from Thailand. Hahha.

Once again, Happy Chinese New Year!!!!!

I hope you guys will enjoy this festive season!!!!

Skin Woes

I always have problems with my skin.

I am trying my best to improve my skin but sometimes, it is just beyond my control. Some people can just wash their faces with water but their skin remain really smooth. I am really envious of people who are blessed with good skin the moment they were born.

Often, annoying aunties will think that their piece of advice will aid you in getting a flawless skin.

There was once when I went to get myself a plate of Wanton Mee.

"Auntie, 云吞面,$3的,要辣。"

This is what happens when some aunties get overly concerned over the condition of my skin.

“小弟,真的要辣啊。不要吃这么辣啦,对你的皮肤很不好。不要辣啦,okay?”

OMG!!! What is this!!!!

I dont even have the choice to decide if I want to have chili in my wanton noddles or not!! This is infuriating. Furthermore, such incidents often happen when there is a pimple outbreak!!!

Please!!! We are already very upset over it!!! We dont need someone to confirm this fact!!!!

Another time, I was shopping in a supermarket when an auntie stopped me.

"小弟,你来try一下我们的牛奶。我们现在有promotion。买两包现在便宜一点。”

After trying,“哇,满好喝的。给我两个Chocolate Milk。谢谢”

Auntie 面有难色。“小弟,要不要拿一个normal milk,不要喝这么多chocolate milk 啦。”

AHHHH.......我就是要chocolate milk!!!!

Even though the auntie didn mention why I shouldn buy chocolate milk but it is so obvious that she was implying at my skin!!!!

Please take pity on people who have poor skin! We are also trying our best to improve our skin. Food dont really contribute to a flawless skin. I have friends who always eat fried food but they still have really good skin.

Okay, I am sure some will say that we should take even more careful of what we eat since we are not already bless with good skin.

=( Okay, point taken.

This made me remember the auntie who had worked with me as a promoter during my FAVE days. That auntie is crazy too.

Sometimes, she will just tell the customers that they are fat!!!!

There was once when a lady wanted to more nuts for her own consumption and she couldn make up her mind. Being a promoter, I will definitely talk her into getting more but that auntie didn.

OMG!!!! I felt so relieved when the customer did not flare up and choose to dig at herself instead too.

Please people!!!! Everyone love listening to nice words!!!

Be kind with your words!!!

Dialects

I always thought that most of my articles published are actually about dialects. However, a search through my portfolio only found me 3. Hahaha.

My very first article that was published in the papers.

The original:

Apparently, all parts about our Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew or any other ministers from the Parliament were actually edited away from my original work piece and that made me rather infuriated then.

My second article to be published.

My third article to be published.

Okay. I always write about dialects because I really hope to see dialects being aired on local television again. I wont go on about how dialects will not pull the already bad standards of chinese among Singaporeans because there will be 101 reason to explain my stand.

I really hope that our Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will see this. Hahhaa. OMG!!! Please do let our dialects return to TV!!!!

I even thought of setting up a facebook page!!!! I will send the link of the facebook page to the Ministry of Information, Culture and Arts after I received enough "Likes" for the page!!

I know many will probably laugh at me for being such a stupid asshole who thinks he can make a difference. Hahaha.

However, an officer of mine during my NS life once told me that if you think that you cannot make a difference, you will never make a difference. You must always give it a try. Gandhi also never thought that his struggle could bring India to independence.

Okay, that is a little too far fetched.

I think I ought to be in politics.

Look out for me in the Worker's Party. Hahaha.

Anyway, I wont be setting up a facebook page desipte all that I had just said because I really think I wont make a difference. Okay, I will perhaps do it when I have the time in the near future.

Anyway, the main point today is I will most probably not write about dialects anymore.

And I am going to embark on a 365 project.

"As the name suggests, I'll be sending 1 article of mine every week to the press. So, let's wait and see if I can get something out of it by the end of the project =) "

Hahaha. I dont mean to be a copycat, Yilong!!! I just cant find a suitable name for my project.

Okay. I think that I wont be able to continue the project for long but my aim is to at least do this till the end of this sem. Hahha.

A random entry with my random thoughts.

INSTEP

INSTEP=International Student Exchange Programme.

I wanted to go on an exchange very much and I worked really hard for it last semester.I am glad that I did okay last semester and it's now the application period for INSTEP.

I went for a briefing last week because I was told that everyone must attend at least one of the briefings before they can apply. Apparently, there is no way that they can check if you had attended the briefing!!!!

However, I am glad that I had attended it because it provided me with lots of information that I had to know.

The moment I was handed the handbook, I went to search for the available Taiwan Universities!! Hahaha. I have always wanted to visit Taiwan so I guess this is a really good opportunity for me to tour the beautiful island while studying there.

Furthermore, I love hokkien songs!!!

I will most probably place National TsingHua University(国立清华大学) as my first choice because that University is only open to students from Chinese Studies. Thus, I should not be facing fierce competition. Hahaha.

A research on the National TsingHua University led me to their official website and this is the history of the school.

"National Tsing Hua University has a long and proud history.First established as the Tsing Hua Academy at Tsing Hua Garden in Beijing in 1911, the Academy was renamed as National Tsing Hua University in 1928 as its curricula expanded to that of a full-fledged university. In 1956, National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) was reinstalled on its current campus in Hsinchu, Taiwan.Since its reinstallation, NTHU has developed from an institute focusing on Nuclear Science and Technology to that of a comprehensive research university offering degrees programs ranging from baccalaureate to doctorate in science, technology, engineering, humanities and social sciences, as well as management. NTHU has been consistently ranked as one of the premier universities in Taiwan and is widely recognized as the best incubator for future leaders in industries as well as academics. Such stellar records are particularly exemplified by the outstanding achievements of our alumni, including two Nobel laureates in physics Dr. Cheng-Ning Yang and Tsung-Dao Lee, one Nobel laureate in chemistry Dr. Yuan-Tseh Lee and one Wolf Prize winner in mathematics Dr. Shiing-Shen Chern."

My Taiwanese friend has confirmed that the National TsingHua University is one of the top 4 schools in Taiwan.

There were also photos of their campus in their official website.

I think the campus look qutie beautiful. Hahaha.

We are each given a total of 5 choices so I will be most probably be filling up the other choices with other Taiwan Universities. Hahhaa.

I hope everything goes fine because there are hell lots of admin stuff to handle before I can successfully go for my exchange. Given my poor IT skills and "blurness", I will most probably miss out some important documents when I submit my application.

If everything goes fine, I should be heading to Taiwan in July.

However, I dont know why I have an intuition that this is a bad year for me.

观音妈, please help!!!!!

Plain Stupid

I went shopping at ION for my new year clothes a few days ago.

Somehow, I saw a shirt that I liked from NewLook. I seldom shop at NewLook but I just happen to find something there that day.

I was about to pay for my stuff at the counter when the salesgirl suddenly stopped me.

Okay, she wanted to persuade me to be their member.

"Sir, you have already spend around $33 in our shop. You just have to spend $60 more to get our membership card. Furthermore, after you signed up as our member, you will be given a $50 voucher. So this means that you only spend $10 for the membership card. Furthermore, you will get 10% off future purchase and 20% off during your birthday month. You can also use this membership card at Levis."

Sounds reasonable huh!

However, I didn agree to applying for their membership and we proceed to the counter.

The salesgirl didn stop and she carried on.

"Sir, you dont waste this good chance. We are only having this promotion this month because of the Chinese New Year. You only spend $10 to get the membership card. We will get you a $50 voucher."

Under her constant ramblings, i finally agreed to signing up for the membership.

OMG!!!!

I found out that I was conned right after my purchase!!!!!

"You only spend $10 for the membership. " This was what the sales girl kept repeating.

Sounds right and reasonable but HELL NO!!!!!

I have to pay $60 for the membership and even though I will get a $50 voucher back, that meant that I am now forced to spend $50 more in my next purchase!!!!

OMG!!!!! Furthermore, i dont usually shop at NewLook or Levis!!!!

Darn!! I am a little pissed off with myself. Impulsive buying!!!!!
